U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Friday establishing the first national voluntary self-deportation program for undocumented migrants.

The measure includes free flights, a $1,000 departure bonus, and the use of a new mobile application called CBP Home.

Trump announced the plan in a video posted to his platform, Truth Social, where he outlined the program’s key features.

“Today, I signed an executive order to launch the first self-deportation program for illegal aliens,” the president declared.

The president explained that undocumented migrants will be able to manage their departure through the CBP Home app.

“An illegal immigrant can simply show up at the airport and receive a free flight out of our country,” he stated.

The initiative also includes a financial incentive: a $1,000 departure bonus.

Trump emphasized that the plan aims to reduce costs for American taxpayers.

“We’re adding a very important deportation bonus to further encourage self-deportation. This bonus will save taxpayers billions of dollars,” he said.

Trump blamed former President Joe Biden for the current immigration situation, stating that his predecessor’s decisions had left a damaging legacy on the country.

“What Biden did to this country can never be explained and will never be accepted,” he added.

He reiterated that the self-deportation program would help save millions in taxpayer money.

A stern warning

The president also issued a strong warning to undocumented migrants who choose to remain in the U.S. and do not take part in the program.

“If you choose to stay in America, you will be here illegally and will face severe consequences,” Trump warned.

Among the penalties for those who refuse to participate, Trump mentioned:

“Significant prison time, massive financial penalties, asset confiscation, wage garnishment, imprisonment, and sudden deportation at a time and in a manner of our choosing.”

In closing, Trump encouraged undocumented migrants to make a prompt decision to self-deport:

“Book your free flight now. We want you to leave America. But if you’re truly good, we will try to help you come back.”
